I am pleased to announce the new SjogrensLife website! It took me a bit longer than I expected to design, but a website (instead of blog-only) is necessary. I will now be able to offer some of the items that I am passionate about bringing to you. I had fun creating it and choosing bright colors to lift up our spirits.

Think of the new SjogrensLife as our “Autoimmune Disease Lifestyle” home. It’s not the lifestyle we wanted, but it’s the one we have! And I want us all to make the most of our lives! The tagline has stayed the same ” Navigating Life with an Autoimmune Disease” but the offering has expanded. With this new format, it will be easier to find product ideas, resources, lifestyle choices, and blog posts that address what you are seeking. And if something is NOT on the site, please do let me know what interests you.

Let me take you through some of the highlights of the site…I hope you like it!

What’s in the New SjogrensLife Website

The site has a Home page that begins with a information about me and why I created the site. It then highlights each section of the website including:

The Best Products for helping us live more comfortably with Sjogren’s. I created this section because people have sought out my one blog post about the products I use daily. I’m talking about many-thousands of worldwide readers. So I decided diving deeper into products is a benefit for our community. Most of the products I have triied (and when I haven’t I make that statement). If I have not tried a product that I’ve listed, it is because other patients have stated they love it.

What you will also see on the Product page are Amazon affiliate links. This means that if you click the product name with a link, and purchase that product in your Amazon account, then I will get a small commission at no additional cost to you. Why am I doing this? To be able to collect some revenue to pay for the costs of running the website. In the future, I would like to send out surveys about product use so we can learn the favorite products of a larger group. I hope that this will help people save money by reducing the trial and error of products! However, I will not place products that I and others have tried but do not like on the Product pages!

The Wellbeing section is all about emotional wellbeing and mindset. I have Yoga in this section. Yoga is a powerful tool for chronically ill people to balance their system — Mind, Body , and Spirit. I look forward to adding much to this section in the future.

Most of you know all About me and much of my life and work with the Sjogren’s Foundation. But here is more of my story and why I do what I do! And of course, I have a whole section on the Sjogren’s Foundation and why my site is NOT a replacement of the Foundation site.

And the Blog now has a main page with recent blog posts listed and categories you can peruse. I sometimes pepper a favorite post into other areas of the website (if I think it is pertinent). Many of my favorite posts are older and you will see some highlighted in website sections. Now that the new site has launched, I can continue writing about all of the things that Sjogren’s and Autoimmune Disease brings to our doorstep.

What’s in Store for the Future of Sjogrenslife?

Currently, the product area is dedicated to eyes and mouth at this time. I will be growing the product area to offer more ideas and cover more areas of the body. You can see what is “coming” by viewing the image boxes on the Best Products page. As I mentioned above, I do offer product ideas based on my use and experience. However, I also want to collect survey data from you all so we have a larger group giving product advice.

In the Wellbeing area, I am currently creating programs for patients. I am also creating downloads that I believe will be helpful to most people. Some of these items will be free and some may have a fee attached. My goal is to create quality products for us all and then receive payment for my time. You are not required to buy anything I offer! But I hope I do create items that speak strongly enough to you that you would like to participate. That’s a win-win for us all!

To wrap up, I am looking forward to re-engaging with you all and writing more about our experiences. If there is something you would like me to write about, or create, just jot me a line at sjogrenslife@gmail.com! I look forward to hearing from you!
